FINAL: bricklandscape
Our club is a techno club that focuses on the elements of water and sound. Our theme is ‘echo’, and we have based the design of our club and the incorporation of our elements on this.
In our club, we want to create a quiet space where people can take a break from the chaos and party atmosphere inside the club. This space is formed by a brick landscape. The bricks in the landscape echo the exposed brickwork of the existing building.

Water. Water falls from the sky and runs down drainpipes into a rainwater tank. I want to do something with that. I collect the rainwater that falls on the roof and channel it via a gutter into the stone landscape. Here, the water flows over the stones towards the centre of the space. From there, it is eventually channelled through pipes into the rainwater tank.
The water creates a visual echo. It flows away, it ebbs away. The echo and the water are reminiscent of the ebb and flow of the tide. This ebb-and-flow movement is made possible by the fact that my rainwater is channelled from the rainwater tank back into the landscape via a circuit. From here, the cycle begins anew, creating a continuous loop in which the ebb and flow are clearly visible.
In this group project, an abandoned building was reactivated through a temporary programme: a nightclub structured around the theme of “echo.”

Working with existing materials found on site, the design translates the idea of echo into spatial repetition, reflection, and transformation. Each intervention responds to
the existing structure, reinforcing the dialogue between old and new.

My individual contribution focuses on the integration of water within a stone landscape
in the chill-out space. Rainwater collected from the roof flows through the space in a continuous cycle, creating a dynamic and sensory experience.

Through movement, reflection, and sound, the water becomes a carrier of the “echo,” making the concept both visible and tangible.

The project is represented through a large-scale hand drawing, which captures both the spatial narrative and the experiential qualities of the design.
